In the sunlight they gleam...
they move so quickly it seems
they're just like shooting stars...
the tiny robot squirrels
the tiny robot squirrels
the tiny robot squirrels
from another world!
it seems that they like shiny things
old metal parts and broken springs
pieces of aluminum
zinc and chrome and bubble gum
bobby pins and safety pins
and wire strings from violins
they seem to take whatever they find
what's going on in their robot minds?!
when people lose their keys
it fills the little squirrels with glee
they take them to the tops of trees
stashing them among the leaves
but what they love most of all
are the little nuts that fall
they take all that they find
and leave all of the bolts behind
what are they building? what are they making?
what's with all these things they're taking?
the tiny robots squirrels!
from another world!
what are they planning? what is their plot?
is this just their vacation spot?
the tiny robots squirrels
from another world!
so we follow where they go
if we're quiet they won't know
they zip and zing and whirl,
these tiny robot squirrels!
they're hard to follow at this pace,
but soon we'll find their hiding place!
ball bearing poop inside a pit,
their secret lair, this must be it!
deep in the forest we can see
deep among the forrest trees
a pile of metal tall and wide
and somewhere deep, deep inside
if we listen we can hear
the sound of servos, keys and gears
little chirps and whirring sounds
come from high above the ground
what are they building? what are they making?
what's with all these things they're taking?
the tiny robots squirrels!
from another world!
what are they planning? what is their plot?
is this just their vacation spot?
the tiny robots squirrels
from another world!
now it's clear! we can see!
the squirrels have built a metal tree!
copper bark and behold,
yellow leaves all of gold!
branches made of stainless steel
and tiny knot holes reveal
the inner workings of this tree
this wonder built of nuts and keys
squirrels begin to gather round
and to make a wondrous sound
their tiny chirping, crisp and sharp
begins to peel back the bark
one by one the pieces fall
responding to the squirrel call
and once the bark has all been pealed
it's mighty purpose is revealed
what are they building? what are they making?
what's with all these things they're taking?
the tiny robots squirrels!
from another world!
what are they planning? what is their plot?
is this just their vacation spot?
the tiny robots squirrels
from another world!
and underneath the copper skin,
rocket boosters now begin
to sputter, clank and to whir to life
as smoke pours out of bright chrome pipes
and every single squirrel dashes
making bright metallic flashes
into what we can only be
brilliant squirrel rocket tree
now the tree begins to rise
it's branches reaching for the sky
and as we watch the vanishing squirrels,
a little metal flag unfurls
"farewell", it says, "the nuts were great"
"we'll be back soon but please don't wait!"
and then into the atmosphere
the tiny squirrels disappear
but what is this, what do we find?
they've left a little gift behind!
we can jump and play and do whatever we please
in this pile of golden leaves!
[spoken over music]
thanks guys.
come back soon.
brrrrrrrt.
brrrrrrrrt... bing!
the earth slowly rotates
as it travels, round the sun
every day we share it's glow
passing through one by one
when we finally turn
away from its light
that's when it will get quite dark
that's what we call night
pass the sleepy stick it's your turn
pass the sleepy stick it's your turn
pass the sleepy stick it's your turn to play
it's your time for day...
we've been playing all day long
and now we are done
it's time for us to pack it in
and for you to have fun
now all us creatures go
to burrows, dens and nests
you can have the sunlight
it's time for us to rest
pass the sleepy stick it's your turn
pass the sleepy stick it's your turn
pass the sleepy stick it's your turn to play
it's your time for day...
for you the day has just begun
and birds begin to sing
emerging from their wet cocoons
butterflies dry their wings
snakes wriggle, crawl and climb
out from under rocks
to catch the warmth of the rays
they stretch themselves on top
[musical fill]
but just as you wake up for light
and as we go to bed
as the sun leaves our land
and the moon is overhead
there are some friends of ours
who love it when it's night
opossums, owls and mice come out
because it's not so bright!
pass the sleepy stick it's your turn
pass the sleepy stick it's your turn
pass the sleepy stick it's your turn to play
it's your time for day...
we meet new pathogens, germs we call them, every day of our lives
and antigens surround pathogens so they're easy to identify
each antibody's got a special bonding spot, adjustable puzzle piece end
that tries to match, with the puzzle half, of an invader's antigens
if they find a match, antibodies attach, to the antigens on the germ's side
they're like little red flags that say, take me away, and the germs can not hide
can not hide!
everybody's got antibodies and Annie's body's got lots
anybody with antibodies has a way to make sure germs are stopped
immunity is part of being a human whose cells are often attacked
the community of cells we call annie trains daily to quickly react
her immune system is on a mission to keep her condition tip top!
anybody with antibodies has a way to make sure germs are stopped
practice makes perfect sense, readying her defense, Annie trains herself well
by inoculation with a vaccination she learns to spot the bad cells
a vaccination's just an education, a little dead germ buffet
her anti-bodies make puzzle ends, that match the antigens, and then they're stored away
when the real germs arrive Annie will stay alive, as white blood cells are deployed
not a moment is wasted, they were already tasted so the germs are quickly destroyed
quickly destroyed!
everybody's got antibodies and Annie's body's got lots
anybody with antibodies has a way to make sure germs are stopped
immunity is part of being a human whose cells are often attacked
the community of cells we call annie trains daily to quickly react
her immune system is on a mission to keep her condition tip top!
anybody with antibodies has a way to make sure germs are stopped
now Annie's body has antibodies that remember germs that they've seen
when germs come back and try to attack antibodies are there on the scene
any type of bacteria, diphtheria or the plague
annie's body's antibodies spot them right away
quickly she'll unleash, white blood cells to eat, the irritating invaders
and devour the cellular infiltrators, like a pile of candy found by second graders
chomp... chomp... chomp... CHOMP... CHOMP!
everybody's got...
everybody's got...
everybody's got antibodies and Annie's body's got lots
anybody with antibodies has a way to make sure germs are stopped
immunity is part of being a human whose cells are often attacked
and everybody's got antibodies
even your body's got antibodies
and anybody with antibodies
has a way to make sure germs are stopped!
